September 2000. This is the car not long after getting it home. A 1975 1850 with 80,000 miles. Given to me by a chap in Niton and had been off the road since 1996 due to rusted sill. The car was unloved and was going to be scrapped if nobody wanted it. Luckily the owner approached the local club prior to phoning the scrap yard and as I was now looking for a project (having been without a Triumph for 4 years) I went to look and found it to be a structurally solid car that deserved to be put back on the road.

Other than one sill being holed all the usual areas were sound. However, the front of the car was in very bad order. The entire front panel was holed from top to bottom, the front wings were full of swollen filler and base of the windscreen was starting to go. Part of the inner front panel was also missing from where the engine fan had thrown water onto it over the years, but the car was free and I like a challenge!
